About us
A message from Dean Hazel Sive
Chair of the Africa Global Initiative
Northeastern University boasts one of the most competitive and rigorous academic landscapes in the U.S. Northeastern’s excellence as an innovative R1 research university, a global university, and a university with a unique focus on experiential education aligns with the dynamic African landscape and positions Northeastern for important engagement across key African regions and countries. We are welcoming an increasing number of students from many African countries to undergraduate and graduate education programs at Northeastern. In turn, our students connect with partners in African countries for international co-ops, or a Dialogue of Civilizations program. Northeastern faculty and counterparts in African countries connect their research in groundbreaking, high impact collaborations. We are proud that Northeastern’s African alumni include leaders in research, government, and industry, and we are delighted to have the families of our African students connected with the university.
What is the Africa Global Initiative?
The Africa Global Initiative is a resource hub that promotes and celebrates Northeastern University’s engagement with Africa. On this site, prospective and current students will find resources and opportunities, faculty and students will discover research connections, and we welcome our alumni and friends connected to Africa.
