African Hero Award Night 2025: Celebrating Excellence, Leadership, and Service

In a memorable evening of recognition, culture, and community, the African Graduate Student Association at Northeastern University hosted its African Hero Award Night & End-of-Year Party on December 13, 2025, at the Northeastern Alumni Center. The event brought together students, staff, and community members to celebrate African excellence and reflect on a year of impactful service and leadership.

 A major highlight of the night was the presentation of the African Hero Award to Dr. Richard O’Bryant, honored for his exceptional leadership, advocacy, and empowerment of African and diaspora communities at Northeastern and beyond. In addition, 11 AGSA members were recognized with the Outstanding Service Award for their unwavering commitment, leadership, and contributions to the growth and success of AGSA throughout the year. The event marked a significant milestone for AGSA as it concluded the year with gratitude and renewed commitment to service.
